The first pilsner beers were sold on 11 November 1842 at the Martinmas Fair [1] in the Czech town of Pilsen. 

Veteran Aussie rugby writer Greg Growden created a furore in New Zealand by suggesting in his Sydney Morning Herald column that a Kiwi Minister of the Crown had behaved appallingly at the Australia-Italy game in North Shore stadium.
